In January 2000, a traffic control system was inaugurated on the Ayalon Highway, the first
of its kind in Israel, and one of the most advanced in the world. The system was designed and built with the aid of leading and experienced companies in the field, drawn from Israel and abroad. Similar systems have been installed on most of the freeways in the United States, Europe and Japan.
The Ayalon Highway is one of the best roads in Israel. Built to the highest standards, it
enjoys a high standard of maintenance and
supervision. It was designed as a freeway, with
4 to 5 lanes in each direction, from the Herzlia
interchange in the north, to the Holon and
Kibbutz Galuyot interchanges in the south. The
section of the freeway to the Holot interchange
will be completed shortly.
